While there are some risk factors for stroke that are out of our control (such as age, gender, ethnicity, and genetics), there are many risk factors that we can control and can in turn help prevent a future stroke.


Maintain a healthy lifestyle and regularly see your doctor:

  • Medication for High Blood Pressure and High Cholesterol

  • No Smoking

  • Manage Diabetes

  • Healthy Diet

  • Regular Exercise

  • Weight control

  • Manage stress

See a cardiologist for any heart related issues:

  • Atrial Fibrillation

  • Heart/Artery Disease
