MEET EDWARD

Ed says that his stroke almost ruined his life when he suffered his stroke at work. At age 57 he struggled with how dramatically life changed. Through his work at RMSC and his focus on rehabilitation, Ed focuses now on returning to work.

He especially enjoys pool therapy, the art classes and meeting so many wonderful people at RMSC. As is true with many who survive stroke, Ed battles fatigue and the challenges of retraining his body to do things like drive a car again. That is another one of his major goals, in addition to getting back to work as an engineering consultant.

Ed likes to golf, fly fish and ride motorcycles, all of which he knows he will enjoy again with the progress he is making.

Among his greatest accomplishments, Ed says that becoming independent once again is highest on the list. “Surviving a stroke is not for sissies,” he adds. He also warns that stroke can happen to anyone, anytime and any place, so pay attention to overall health and warning signs.
