MEET CHARLES
Charles enjoys reading as much as he can about the brain. He always had interests that spanned beyond his day job with UPS, but since his stroke in 2006, his interest in staying up on things has sharpened. One of his favorite books is “The Brain That Changes Itself,” by Dr. Norman Doidge.
His attitude remains positive as Charles attends the Young Enthusiastic Stoke Survivors group at RMSC. “I must understand that I have limitations. I also know that I will overcome them.”
When he is not attending specific groups for rehabilitation, Charles likes bike riding and fixing computers. Some of the folks call on him when they have computer questions.
Living one day at a time is Charles’ motto. “That’s the secret to staying focused and positive,” he says.
